Well-maintained leather can last a lifetime if taken care of properly. With time, leather can lose its oils causing the skin and likely the fibres of its surface to break.
Wipe your leather item regularly with a dry to a slightly damp cloth to prevent dirt from building up. Apply leather oil or conditioning cream every 4 – 6 months to treat and protect the leather.
Should your product get wet, allow it to dry naturally in an airy location (never with a heater or in direct sunlight), and remember to not rub the water stains.
